Color Movies with VoxBlast: 3D Ultrasound of Fetus
This movie shows a 3D reconstruction of an ultrasound scan of a living fetus. The data was collected with an ultrasound transducer capable of collecting several parallel slices. About 35 slices were acquired.
VoxBlast uses an algorithm for reconstruction that works particularly well with ultrasound data. The algorithm minimizes the noise in an ultrasound dataset and emphasizes the signal. In addition, the fractional interpolations used in VoxBlast provide very accurate renderings for measurement.
