Color Movies with VoxBlast: Deconvolution of Thick Specimens actin fibers, 120 microns thick

Raw Image

Focused Image

The images above show the raw (not yet deconvolved) data on the left, and the deconvolved (out-of-focus haze removed) data on the right. Both the raw and focused images are included in a larger, downloadable movie file that depicts the actin fibers you see above in 3D loops. Out-of-focus haze was removed with VayTek's MicroTome software. The movie was constructed with VayTek's VoxBlast software.

These images illustrate the value of using deconvolution with very thick specimens. The specimen shown is about 120 microns thick.
