NEW VayTek Image (TM) -- VayTek Image is an image processing and data acquisition software. It allows scientists to capture images in real time from their microscope and process the images to bring out the relevant features. This free download of VayTek Image provides software that can only use existing images to perform its functions. VayTek Image is designed to capture images from various digital cameras. Customers can contact VayTek to purchase and
activate the camera controls.
Download VayTekImage 2.0.116,
May 13, 2003, for Windows, 17.3 MB
More details:
VayTek Image is a general purpose 2D Image acquisition and analysis
tool. VayTek Image is not a deconvolution tool although it has
menu items to launch Deconvolution, VolumeScan, VoxBlast, as
well as VoxBlast Light and Blind Deconvolution.
Image Acquisition: Using TWAIN device interface, users
can capture images and display them in the VayTek Image window.
This function is available in the free version of VayTek Image.
The user can also capture images from QImaging, QImaging Intensified,
Hamamatsu, and Cooke cameras, but users must pay VayTek to have
this capability activated.
Image Analysis: All of the basic image manipulation functions
are included in the free version. This includes Rotation, Brightness,
Contrast, Hue, Saturation, and Gamma adjustments, Inverting,
and Resizing. The user can convert images from color to gray,
from 16 to 8 bit, merge colors, extract channels, and annotate.
Users can take simple measurements, apply one of 19 filters,
use cutting tools, fill, and much more. Contact
VayTek for more information.
VoxBlast
(3-D) Demos --
The demo versions of VoxBlast use one of two sample data
sets; Hog Heart or Desmin Protein (see dataset downloads below).
Only one dataset can be used at a time. If users wish to try
both datasets, it is necessary to un-install one before installing
the other. For assistance with the demo version, or if you have
questions about VoxBlast, please contact us at 641-472-2227.
Thank you.

VoxBlast Light 3.0. VoxBlast Light is a limited 3D Volume renderer
that allows the user to view a stack of images as a volume. Users
can also rotate the volume, as well as apply and edit a palette
to the image. Users can load their own data sets, but are limited
in what can be done with the data sets. VoxBlast Light now has
expanded file-reading capability, including BioRad, Dicom, 8
and 16 bit TIFF, 8 and 16 bit TIFF multi-image, and 8 or 16 bit
raw. For Window 9X/2000/NT only. (7.8 MB).

VoxBlast
(3-D) MOVIE SCRIPTS -- Here are some sample scripts to generate complex
movie loops. If you want to create movies with more than simple
rotation, you need to save the individual frames from each iteration
of your changes to the rendered 3D image. This manual operation
can be tedious and time consuming. If you plan to repeat the
process, you can write a script file using a simple text editor,
to execute VoxTalk commands that will automate the process. Here
are some sample scripts that can get you started. The scripts
are commented to help you understand how to use the VoxTalk commands.
The scripts are written for the Windows version. They can be
used with the MAC and UNIX versions, but require additional editing
of the file naming and saving operations. Contact Patrick Guerin
at VayTek for more information.
Click
here to download a script which performs
a complex rotation in the X, Y, and Z axes (4 KB). Each axis
uses a different increment algorithm. The result of this movie
generation script can be seen in the Rat Lung
Alveoli movie loop. The three axis are varied using sine/cosine
functions.
to download a script which uses the Ortho Limit function to "cut
through" a volume (2 KB). The object starts from the front
view, rotates to an oblique view, then cuts away the object slice
by slice.
to download a script in which the cutting plane is rotated on
axis inside the volume (3 KB).
to download a script in which the cutting plane is moved through
the volume (3 KB).
Data
Sets for VoxBlast -- Data sets for VoxBlast - ready to render. (These data sets are not required for the Windows and Mac versions of the demo, as the data sets are included in those VoxBlast demo file downloads.) Users who already own VoxBlast may download the data sets for practice and learning purposes. UNIX users may need to download the data sets separately, in addition to the UNIX demo program. Demo
Programs and Documentation for VolumeScan
VolumeScan demo program (vs_cmp.EXE download is 6.5 megabytes)
This is a newly updated version of VayTek's VolumeScan program.
VolumeScan is designed to make the setup and control of hardware
add-ons easy and simple. The modules range from simple control
of one Z azis motor, to the more complex, coordinated control
of a Z axis motor, shutter and filter wheel to capture color
images over time from dim fluorescent specimens. The demo program
works exactly the same as the real version except that it will
not write images to disk. The demo requires Image Pro 3.0 or
4.0 to run. Download
VolumeScan Demo (6.1 MB). The version of VolumeScan which VayTek
sells requires Image Pro 4.1.
