Sending Files
Evaluation, deconvolution and/or 3D reconstruction of selected
data sets is a free service for our customers. With this
service you can upload your image files or data sets and VayTek's
technical staff will process them.
(The instructions below are for uploading only. For
information on downloadable files, see our Free
Demo website page.)
Uploading a file for evaluation:
After you have saved your image file or data set, you can upload
it to our FTP site. The steps for using this service are as follows:
- If possible, save your images in TIFF format. If you use
the TIFF format, please send the images uncompressed.
- Use a unique name for your files, observing the eight-maximum-characters
naming convention with the name followed by a dot (period) and
the three-character file format extension. For example, your
file may be named something like "myneuron.tif" or
"eggfocus.jpg".
- Use the FTP sending instructions below
- Enter the unique name for your file.
- Send us an email message to vaytek@vaytek.com,
noting that your file has been uploaded. We will retrieve the
image or images promptly and process them.
Include the following in your email message:
- Specify "Deconvolution" or "3D Reconstruction"
or both
- Include all relevant details about your data
- Give us the time and date of your upload.
- Tell us what you are trying to see.
- Tell us what you are trying to accomplish.
- Tell us the numerical aperture of the lens.
- Tell us the emission wavelength of light.
- Tell us the index of immersion oil.
- Tell us the distance between slices (dz in microns).
- Tell us the microns per pixel along the X and Y axes (dx
and dy)
- For 3D Reconstructions, tell us the distance between
pixels in the XY plane (the calibrated distance between pixels
in a captured image)
- For 3D Reconstructions, tell us the image dimensions
in pixels (for example: 512 x 512)

your last name as a filename identifier.
- Deposit your images in the folder you've created.

NOTE: In the email, tell us as much as you can about your data
and what it is you are trying to see or to accomplish. See
