color slider pictureQIMAGING RGB COLOR SLIDER

The QImaging RGB Color Slider color filter is combined with high-resolution, monochrome CCD cameras to create high quality color images. Color information is acquired sequentially to provide quantitiative, true-color images at full resolution in each color plane. The RGB Color Slider color filter module contains an electronically switchable optical filter that can be moved out of the field of view. Red, green and blue bandpass filters are created by applying different control signals. High resolutiion, 36 bit color images are created by sequentially acquiring 12 bit red, green and blue images. The module is controlled by the QImaging camera - it plugs into the back of the camera - so it is very easy to install and use. The filter mounts to the camera C-mount and presents a Nikon F-mount to the optical system. Also available in smaller, non-slider format. Features:

  • 30 percent minimum transmission
  • Maximum optical input, 500mW/cm2
  • Module control is camera controlled
  • Temperature range is 10 degrees C to 45 degrees C
  • Optical mount is Nikon F-mount (C-mount to camera)

Sensys logoSenSys Color is a high-performance CCD digital camera system designed to allow you to easily capture true color images on your microscope at 12 bits per channel. The system uses state-of-the-art color filtering and a cooled CCD sensor to provide higher resolution and more precision than video systems. SenSys Color supports a variety of scientific-grade CCD sensors to match the needs of your specific application. It employs a tunable liquid crystal filter within the infinity-corrected space of the microscope to obtain the optimum image fidelity and prevent image distortion. This unique filter design and placement eliminate the need for additional optics and provide the sensitivity and resolution necessary to obtain the highest-quality, most-accurate color images in both brightfield and fluorescence microscopy. The system allows you to switch from full-color imaging to monochrome with no alteration to the image quality or focus.

Photometrics Quantix Plus is a CCD camera that is cooled.

  • In addition to the specifications shown above for SenSys Plus, the Quantix Plus provides 5 MegaPixel/second digitization, 0.3 seconds to readout full frame.

Roper Photometrics also offers the CoolSNAP , CoolSNAP cf, CoolSNAP ES, and CoolSNAP HQ cameras. The CoolSNAP cf Monochrome camera incorporates cooled CCD technology and low-noise electronics for low-light sensitivity. A 1392x1040 resolution sensor with small, square pixels ensures that each image shows good detail, 4.65 x 4.65 micron pixels, 7.6 x 6.2 mm imaging area (optically centered). The camera uses a Sony ICX205AL 1/2 inch interline progressive-scan HAD CCD with microlenses. The CoolSNAP cf offers flexible binning and readout, which increases light sensitivity while increasing the frame rate. 12-bit digitization quantifies both bright and dim signals in the same image.

The CoolSNAP cf Color offers many of the same features and benefits as the monochrome model, plus 24 bit or 32 bit color. Color mask: RGB Bayer mosaic filter. Operates in dual-mode, allowing for fast gray-scale focusing and high-resolution color imaging. IR blocking (700-nm cutoff). Roper Scientific RS Image software is available for most Photometrics cameras.

See the Compare Cameras informational pages for more information on the CoolSNAP cameras.

Roper Photometrics Cascade:512F, 512 x 512 imaging array - 16 x 16 micron pixels

The Photometrics Cascade digital imaging system from Roper Scientific offers high sensitivity through the use of on-chip multiplication gain. A 512 x 512-pixel array (16 x 16-µm pixels) enhances this sensitivity, while providing good field of view. The 16-bit, thermoelectrically cooled system can be operated at 10 MHz for high-speed image visualization or more slowly for high-precision photometry. Supravideo frame rates are achievable via subregion readout. The camera can be configured with dual amplifiers in order to ensure optimal performance not only for applications that demand high sensitivity (e.g., single-molecule fluorescence), but also for those requiring wide dynamic range (e.g., standard live-cell fluorescence). This low-noise, impact-ionization process enables multiplication of photon-generated charge right on the CCD, offering an effective alternative to traditional image intensifiers for numerous nongated, low-light applications.

See VayTek's Compare Cameras database for more information on this camera.

Roper Princeton Instruments

VayTek has added Roper Princeton Instruments Cooled CCD Cameras to their line of image acquisition hardware. One of the advantages of the MicroMAX concept is the large variety of CCD types that are supported within the product line so the user can choose the optimal CCD sensor for his/her application type. The RTE head of the MicroMAX is small and round with a flush front surface that has a standard C-mount thread for easy attachment to microscope video type adapters. The MicroMAX cameras from Princeton Instruments use the highest grade surface finish available for optical windows. For more information, see the Roper Website and VayTek's Compare Cameras database.

ZEISS

Zeiss AxioCam MR

AxioCam MR (mono or color) Digital Documentation in Microscopy: The All-round Camera for Biology, Medicine and Materials Analysis

The camera set contains AxioVision software which permits easy capture, processing and saving of the image. This mid-resolution camera has resolution of 1300 x1030 and 12-bit digitization. A/D conversion is performed directly in the camera head, producing image and color quality beyond the possibilities of standard video. It is possible to achieve - and surpass - the resolution of considerably more expensive 3-chip CCD models. The "Zeiss Blue" also provides such benefits as compact size and increased efficiency. Inconvenient switching of cameras and tangled cables are a thing of the past: A single long cable is sufficient for data and energy supply.

Zeiss AxioCam HR Color

AxioCam HR: Digital Microscope Camera. Ultra-high Resolution and Fluorescence in One System

AxioCam HR offers high image quality in most fields of work. It can also be adapted to suit user requirements, with the option of selecting from various resolution levels up to 3900x 090 pixels. Due to its sensitivity and cooling, the camera is a good choice for fluorescence imaging at its basic resolution of 1300 x 1030 pixels. In combination with motorized microscopes many processes can be automated, which is of particular benefit when generating complex image recordings in fluorescence microscopy. For multiple fluorescence and time-lapse recordings this ensures that the risk of the sample being harmed is kept to a minimum. Binning can reduce exposure times. The AxioVision digital imaging software offered together with AxioCam HR ensures convenient camera operation and also allows you to process, analyze and archive images. Accurate color is achieved through color-co-site sampling. With this procedure color information (i.e. not arithmetically-generated color interpolation) is obtained by scanning the red, green and blue components in exactly the same place.
