About Us

VayTek Inc. was founded in 1990 to satisfy a growing demand in scientific markets for the ability to produce a clear, accurate image which is true to the original object.

VayTek’s image deconvolution software, MicroTome, originally introduced to the microscopy market, is a proprietary haze removal technology. VayTek's MicroTome software removes out-of-focus haze and sharpens images from data acquired through a variety of instruments, including cameras, telescopes, X-rays and magnetic resonance imaging. It is easy to use, offers an attractive choice of analytical and measurement capabilities, operates on the most common platforms, and is available in various speeds at competitive prices.

There are many programs that utilize filters to enhance images. It is critical to understand, however, that VayTek's deconvolution technology is not a filtering device. It is a tool that first determines the blur contributed to the image from the inherent nature of the imaging device itself, then removes that blur. The practical advantages of a deconvolved image, with true PSF (point spread function), are extremely valuable to scientists and researchers who are looking for accuracy and clarity (see FAQ).

In 1992 VayTek, in cooperation with the University of Iowa's Image Analysis Facility, introduced a 3D volume visualization product to the market. Since that time, VoxBlast has gained widespread market acceptance for its ease of use and low cost. VoxBlast renders in 3D and measures data from many sources, including seismic, ultrasound, optic and radar.

From image acquisition to publication of results, VayTek offers all of the hardware and software that serious researchers demand. For a comprehensive comparison of CCD cameras, see our Camera Comparisons.

A modular approach to both software and hardware has given VayTek the ability to customize integrated systems and to retrofit to existing systems. Compatibility is assured for microscopists, geoscientists, and medical imagers.

VayTek's deconvolution and 3D programs are enabling technologies with numerous potential applications in many fields (see Application Notes), such as:
  1. medical imaging for cancer detection
  2. accurate identification of pathological samples
  3. endoscopic surgery
  4. radiology
  5. environmental applications, including handling and identifying hazardous waste
  6. industrial applications, such as quality inspection of semiconductor chips
  7. more accurate and faster imaging for military, surveillance, law enforcement and security
All of VayTek's systems, including both software and hardware, are priced competitively. You'll find more features for your dollars in any VayTek system. In addition to lower costs, VayTek offers the best technical support in the industry. We are a resource you can count on.
