Services from VayTek
System Integration
A customer may purchase portions of a system from VayTek,
then ship additional items to our headquarters and we will integrate
and test the components. For example, a customer may purchase
MicroTome for Windows and a Z-axis stepper motor, then ship both
computer and controller. VayTek personnel will install MicroTome
on the customer's computer, test the software and the Z-stage
control, then ship the integrated system back. Call for cost

On-site Installation and Training
A customer may purchase hardware items and software from VayTek
and have our personnel carry out the installation as well as
provide hands-on training. In the case of a complete turnkey
system, integration and installation generally takes one full
day. Training is held on the second day.
Training includes demonstration of the use of the image acquisition
system (both hardware and software procedures) to acquire and
save images; standard manipulation of the microscope peripherals,
including Z-stage control, shutter and filter control; and integration
control of a CCD camera. Training will also include demonstration
of the use of the deconvolution software to remove out-of-focus
haze from the sample stack of images. Rudimentary use of VoxBlast
to load images and to perform simple measurements will be demonstrated.
Additional training will include demonstration of the procedures
for writing simple scripts to supplement the use of the system.

Deconvolve Data Sets
VayTek will accept unprocessed stacks of 2D images from customers
and return deconvolved stacks. There is no charge for data sets
processed as part of a sales evaluation. Call for a cost estimate
for processing data sets that are not part of a sales evaluation.
Please label your diskettes or CDs and provide the
following information:
- numerical aperture of the lens
- wavelength of light
- index of immersion oil
- distance between slices
- microns per pixel along x and y axes
If you use the TIFF format please send your images uncompressed.
If you do not use TIFF, files should be 8 bit integer, binary
format, raster scan. Please supply header length, height and
width of your image.
As an alternative to supplying VayTek with diskettes or CDs,
you may use our Send a File service
to upload your data. Please notify VayTek's sales personnel via
email when you have uploaded data sets for evaluation or for
deconvolution.
Customer Support
Web-based
computer linkup tools allow VayTek's tech support to view the
customer's screen, and if needed, reverse the link so the customer
can view the tech support screen. Customer's must call VayTek
